The simple answer is that anyone can join Scouting. Open to all faiths, genders and ages, Scouts is a worldwide family for all.
There are hundreds of groups all over the country, and the first step is simply to get in touch with your local group and ask whether there are spaces available. Depending on how old your child is, they will join either Beavers, Cubs, Scouts or Explorers.
You can use our joining form below to get in touch with 1st Filton Scout Group.
All members of the Scout Association pay subs which go towards the running of the group. When you get in touch, you'll be told how much you need to pay per term.
If you've ever thought about volunteering for a Scout group then one of the questions you might have asked yourself is "what does volunteering at a group actually entail?".
Although the traditional roles of leaders are vital volunteer positions within the group, volunteering actually covers a whole range of roles both as active roles in sessions and more behind-the-scenes roles. You can commit to as much or little time as you would like, and whether you want to come along and get stuck into lighting fires and camping or would like to help with the organisation and running of the group, all volunteers are most welcome.
Volunteering is a great way to get involved and have fun. Who said Scouts was only for kids?
Whether you are a parent with a child who wants to join or if you are an adult who would like to find out about volunteering roles within the group, fill out the form below to give us some details and we'll get back to you.
